The statue itself is created by a master Newari aritisan from kathmandu valley, using a very difficult and time consuming process called "lost wax process". It a bronze with 14k liquid gold paint on some details and face, and grounded lapiz for the blue head of the statue.
Guru Rinpoche ("precious teacher" the honorable name for Guru Padmasambhava)
Padmasambhava is the patron saint of Tibetan Buddhism and the founder of the Nyingmapa school. He was a renowned and highly learned Tantric figure from Northern India. Guru Padmasambhava serves the mythic function of embodying all the atrributes of the Buddha, the Boddhisatvas and all the eighty-four Great Adepts.
